How many type of Rosacea are there?
The panel of rosacea experts have divided it into four main types
These are the way they are described and each one is getting worse. There are 4 main types
- erthematotelangiectatic – which is when there is flushing of the face which comes and goes, there may be burning and stinging on the face
- papulopustular – this is when there is more constant redness of the face, but also papules are present sometimes. They can look like acne or worse
- phymatous – which is when the face again is constantly red, but what has happened is the skin on the face has become thicker to protect and there may be areas of hardened skin nodules, especially around the nose area
- ocular – which is the worse type, as it involves the eye. the eye becomes watery and bloodshot and stinging and if really bad, can lead to blindness

A real cause for rosacea has not been found yet, but there is always research being carried out and because of that there is some headway
Diet has been marked as a culprit in causing rosacea, although has not been proved.
